1. Segment mobile lists just as you would with e-mail.


Look for a mobile marketing platform that allows you to create multiple (preferably unlimited) keywords to build specialized lists.


For example: you might have a list of people that requested a specific report, an exclusive list for existing clients, weekly specials list, and so on.


2. Integrate social media with your mobile marketing.


Mobile marketing is a very direct way to reach customers, but social media allows you to create more of a two-way conversation.


Not everyone will reply to an SMS, due to charges from their carrier. But interacting on social media is free.


3. Identify your company.


If your mobile subscribers haven’t associated your shortcode with your company, it will be beneficial to remind them who you are in order to reduce complaints about your messages.


Aside from reducing complaints, repeating your brand helps subscribers associate the types of products and services you offer with your company.
